This is a wonderfully rich and complex single malt. Opening with rich and spicy aromas of crème brulee, heather honey and crumbled cinnamon, intensely fruity notes follow - fresh pineapple dressed with a scattering of sun-kissed lemon zest. A limited edition expression from the Highland Queen range, produced in celebration of the brand's 120th anniversary. This blend is made using malt and grain whiskies (with a high percentage of malt) all over 30 years old, which were blended and then allowed to marry for 6 months in Sherry butts. The '1561' in the name is a reference to Mary Queen of Scots, whom the brand is named after.
