The powerful fruit expression is the most recognisable feature of a Marlborough Pinot Noir. This Pinot Noir has nice fruit weight and density, lovely floral aroma profile and mineral structure. A full-bodied wine with round, mouth-filling flavours of plum, brambly fruit, dark cherry and a hint of savoury herbs. The oak integrates nicely with the fruit and the silky and linear tannin structure. A brighter and more lively style of Pinot Noir built around a core of red cherry flavours. It is all about life in the fruit, good acidity and plush drinkability.

Lively and unexpected, the Aromatics range demonstrates the potential of Marlborough to bring out exciting character in cool-climate aromatic grapes. In NZ, the varietal is generally called Pinot Gris rather than Pinot Grigio and encompasses a wide range of residual sugar levels and styles. Astrolabe Marlborough Pinot Gris is a nod towards some of the more aromatic, finer examples of northern Italian, higher altitude Pinot Grigio as well as referencing a little the wines of Alsace, but it's pretty much a Kiwi style - a Marlborough style.
